My First Months in Affiliate Marketing
My name is Robbi Rice and a few months ago I decided to try affiliate marketing. I will tell you a little bit about me and what lead me to give this a try. I had a degree in teaching but somehow ended up in retail for 16 years. Three years ago I lost my retail job. I decided to go back into teaching. I started to substitute teach while I was going back to school to renew my license. Meanwhile in order to keep up with expenses I have had to take out almost all the retirement I had saved for in my retail years. I was looking for something to help replace what I had lost.
One of the first things that I realized is that I needed to learn a lot more about the computer. I didn't even know how to cut and paste. I enlisted the help of a friend and learned some basics. I still have a lot to learn but it was a start. While I was trying to figure out how to do things I found Traffic Exchanges. My problem there is what all the experienced people tell you not to do and that is getting distracted. I have been trying to become more focused but It is very hard to do. The one thing I did find out that is a must in TE's is that you do need a splash page .
Did I find the right business? I think so. I haven't had much success yet but as they tell you If you think you will make a million dollars overnight with no work you are in the wrong business. So I keep working hard and the trick is to KEEP LEARNING.

Why I Am Here
About 3 years ago I lost my retail job of 16 years. I have a teaching degree so I decided to pursue that again at the age of 49. I have been substitute teaching but It isn't bringing in enough income. I started doing surveys online and came across an ad for Affiliate Marketing and decided to try it out. One thing that came to mind is this could get expensive. Since I am fairly new to the web and still am learning how to do things I started looking for inexpensive or free ways to start while still learning but yet still get some traffic to my site. In upcoming blogs I will examine what I have been doing and how it is working.
